A Wild Wet and Incredible St Cwyfan’s Church, Wedding

a group of people walk toward the incredible st cwyfan's church, a small white chapel perched on a rocky hill under a cloudy sky; one person holds an umbrella.

I normally write all about the wedding here, all the details, all the wonderful events of the day, but shortly after sending over some sneak peek images for this loveliest of couples, this was posted on my social media by the groom Aaron. His words say far more than my ramblings ever could.

The original post from Aaron was in reply to a facebook post on my page that can be found here.

So over to you Aaron, with love, respect and many thanks.

You have captured our day wonderfully. From the pre-shoot chat we had when you were on the side of a mountain, you listened to what we wanted and stuck to it.

You were at the church waiting for the groomsmen to arrive and took advantage of the scenery, getting some fantastic angles of St Cwyfan. As soon as the lads arrived, you immediately started to shoot the moments that, without your eye to detail, would be lost forever in the blur that took place.

a person in a police hat stands on a rocky shoreline, facing the incredible st cwyfan's church—a small house like sanctuary perched on an isolated rock island under a cloudy sky.

When Sarah arrived, you made her feel like an absolute star – “he made it feel like I had paparazzi there just for me”; you put her at ease and framed her gorgeous smile time and again while she was escorted up to the church at her father’s side.

a couple walks along a wet, reflective path under a dark, cloudy sky, with the distant st cwyfan's church on a hill.

Talking of the little details, you went out of your way to snap some extremely detailed photos of our vicar, Fr. Vince Morris; he is delighted by what I’ve sent so far, and there’s more to come too!

You managed to capture the atmospheric feel the weather had over our day and turned it into a spectacular view of Anglesey that only true locals have the honour of experiencing – you made me feel like I never left Ynys Môn.

under the cloudy sky, people stroll along the rocky shore of wild wet towards a small, white house on a distant island. the scene evokes a sense of serene anticipation reminiscent of a wedding procession to st cwyfan's church.

a bride laughs joyfully while holding hands with a man in a suit, standing beside another smiling man in black during the wedding ceremony at rustic st cwyfan's church.

Inside the church, you’ve again mastered your art by honing in on the historical detail inside and out – taking advantage of the light coming in through the small windows and door. Further capturing the smiles from everyone’s faces, the tears and the expressions that would otherwise only be a distant memory.

You listened to our requests and followed us wherever we wanted pictures taken after the ceremony – you made us laugh, feel at ease and felt really personal not only at Porthaethwy, but throughout the day.

I know these images above on your social media are only a few snapshots of the full day and experience you gave us…but the album is visually stunning. We’ve watched the slideshow together between shifts, where we’ve held each other and cried together and loved each other more while looking at each one of those photographs.

I don’t know how you do it Phil, but we are absolutely honoured to have had you help us remember our day together. Award winning photography – we can all see why.

Truth be told, I don’t need to type these words out for you – your photographs speak for themselves. But without a thank you fit enough that I can think of, these words will have to suffice!!

Phil, thank you, diolch o galon.

Thank you to Aaron for those kind words, and to Sarah too. Really loved working alongside these beautiful people, if you are looking for a creative soul to capture your St Cwfan’s wedding day, then please do get in touch. In the meantime, here are a few more images from this incredible wedding.
