Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding

A Relaxed Rustic Wedding Day

Thanks to Phil we have amazing memories to look back on – picking Phil as our wedding photographer was one of the first, and best, decisions we made when planning our wedding…”

Sandole Oak Barn Wedding

This was my first visit to this gorgeous venue and one that was set to be a hot day too, This gorgeous young couple came to me after seeing examples of my work at their friends weddings. It is always nice when that happens and reinforces my approach to documenting a wedding day. Natural, relaxed and also with a little bit of creativity too.

A Wedding By A Lake

It’s a stunning setting, set in acres of rolling countryside and right by the side of a beautiful lake, who wouldn’t fall in love with such a stunning venue? This is exactly what Zoe and Carl did, so I asked them to write a few words for me about their wedding journey. Happily Zoe obliged and here are her, and Carl’s words. Interspersed with a few images from their beautiful Sandhole Oak Barn wedding.

The past 18 months have absolutely flown by, and we can’t quite believe it’s been that long since we had our perfect wedding day!

Our main focus for our wedding was that we wanted the day to be informal and relaxed; all about the personal moments we’ve shared as a couple, and the amazing friends and family we have around us. Sandhole Oak Barn was the most incredible venue for this, and Phil just knew where all the best spots were for the most magical photographs.

We made a conscious effort to work with local suppliers and they all worked so well together. Before the guests even started arriving we already knew we were going to have the best day. We’d thoroughly recommend engaged couples try and use suppliers who know each other!

Our favourite moments – the first time my Dad saw me in my dress; when I heard our band (the fabulous Lazy Marmalade) start playing their rendition of the song I was walking down the aisle to; and the sound of our guests laughing and having the best time on the mini golf course with the guys from Crazy 9, whilst we got our first chance to spend time alone having photos taken as a newly married couple – there are so many, but every single one of them is captured in our photos, which really reflect everything we wanted our day to be.

Thanks to Phil we have amazing memories to look back on – picking Phil as our wedding photographer was one of the first, and best, decisions we made when planning our wedding; before we’d even booked the venue we knew he was the right photographer for us! And he really didn’t disappoint – the photos were incredible straight after our wedding, and are still just as much so now.

A huge thanks to Zoe and Carl for those lovely words right at the end there.
